Students attend back-to-school events

Before school started on Sept. 2, many schools hosted events to welcome their students back and get them ready for another successful year.

Elementary school open houses

On Aug. 27 and 28, elementary schools across the district held open house events for incoming prekindergarten through fifth-grade students and their families. At Elm Creek Elementary School, students and families met teachers, explored classrooms, the media center, cafeteria, and gym, and connected with specialists and other building staff. Families also had the opportunity to speak with PTO members and Kidstop school-age care staff.

Park Center Senior High School’s Pirate Palooza

On Aug. 20, the Park Center Senior High School community kicked off the new school year with a festive Pirate Palooza. In addition to typical back-to-school activities like getting schedules and finding classrooms, students could also check out a few food trucks and access information about a wide variety of available opportunities to enrich their high school years and beyond.
